About Elkins Interiors:
Elkins Interiors is a full-service, boutique interior design studio located in Charlotte, North Carolina. We specialize in new construction, large-scale renovations, and full-service furnishing projects. Our team is passionate about creating thoughtful, functional spaces tailored to our clients' unique needs.

Our studio is growing and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to join our team! This is a key role supporting our design team with finish schedules, procurement, logistics, and project organization.

This position will require multitasking across several projects, collaborating with vendors and contractors, and ensuring seamless project execution. Candidates with a background in construction, project management, or interior design are strongly preferred.

Must be available available in person a few days a week at Park Road office. Somewhat flexible schedule.

This is not a design position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed and accurate finish schedules, including plumbing, lighting, furniture, hardware, etc.

  • Track and update procurement processes for finish schedules, plumbing, appliance packages, millwork, and shop drawing approvals.

  • Maintain thorough records, monitor timelines, and provide client-focused solutions.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the Principal Designer, vendors, and trades.

  • Ensure all finish schedule details are accurate and provide updates as needed.

  • Share finish schedules with contractors, builders, and trades.

  • Create and organize digital and physical folders for each project .

  • Document project progress through detailed on-site notes, updates, and change orders.

  • Provide administrative support for projects from concept through installation.

  • Manage client budgets, orders, and delivery schedules.

  • Request information from vendors, including pricing, lead times, and availability.

  • Coordinate and communicate deliveries, timelines, and potential delays.

  • File and resolve vendor claims for damaged goods or outstanding items.

  • Collaborate with the warehouse and manufacturers to resolve issues while meeting deadlines.

  • Continuously improve operational processes to maximize productivity.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, architects, and builders.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with construction schedules preferred and the ability to provide accurate specifications.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat; willingness to learn procurement software.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.

  • Ability to think critically, problem-solve independently, and adapt to new challenges.

  • A friendly demeanor and a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Experience in furniture, retail, project management, or interior design is a plus.

  • Knowledge of construction documents and processes is a plus.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a desk operating office equipment for extended periods.

  • Capability to transport items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
